Itinerary

  • Day 01 : Arrive Cochin

    Arrive today at Cochin Airport. Welcome to India! You are met by our representative in the arrival area of the airport after you clear all immigration and customs formalities. Depart for your hotel where you will check in for your stay.

  • Day 02 : Cochin

    Today, you will take a city tour of Cochin. Visit Dutch Palace (Closed on Fridays and Jewish Holidays), also known as Mattancherry Palace built by the Portuguese and presented to the Raja of Cochin in 16th Century AD. It acquired the present name in the 17th century when the Dutch carried out extensions and repairs in the palace. At no time did the Portuguese or Dutch stay here, its interiors are decorated with murals from the Ramayana and there are some lively displays of royal costumes and palanquins. Kathakali literally meaning "story dance" is the pantomimic dance drama, the dancing and the acting being blended together into an inseparable form. It is a combination of facial expressions and body movements, which brings out the thought and emotion of the character.

  • Day 03 : Cochin / Munnar (approx. 140 kms / 3 ½ hours)

    After buffet breakfast at the hotel you would be driven from Cochin to Munnar, Upon arrival proceed for check-in at hotel. Munnar is the nature-lover’s paradise. Snuggling in the green and serene Kannan Devan Hills lies the quite and restful resort of Munnar. Panoramic views of low-flying clouds and mist filled valleys make it a pretty little heaven with a cool bracing climate. It was opened up out of virgin forests a century ago by pioneering planters. Within its remote and elderly churches - gracious, stone-structures with ancient chandeliers and rosewood pews. A little beyond lies Anaimudi, South India's highest peak. Evening you can go for a stroll in Tea Estates or explore Munnar on your own.

  • Day 04 : Munnar / Thekkady (approx. 120kms / 04 hours)

    After early breakfast at the hotel you would be driven from Munnar to Thekkady, which is also known as Periyar. Upon arrival proceed to check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, proceed for the Guided Nature Walk around the Periyar National Park to view the flora & fauna of the park. Situated within the confines of the Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world. The park has a picturesque lake at the heart of the sanctuary. You might get a chance to see Herds of elephant and sambar, gaur and wild pigs and wander down to the lakeside during this walk. Return to the hotel after the Nature Walk.

  • Day 05 : Thekkady

    Early morning; proceed to Periyar National Park to view the wildlife by boat. Situated within the confines of the Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world. The park has a picturesque lake at the heart of the sanctuary. Herds of elephant and sambar, gaur and wild pigs and wander down to the lakeside and can be observed from the launches that cruise the lake. Periyar also harbors the leopard, wild dog, barking deer and mouse deer. On the rocky outcrops along the lake, monitor lizards can be seen basking in the sun. Return to the hotel after your boat ride. Afternoon, enjoy the “Excursion to lower camp to Visit the farmlands of a village” hidden in the valley behind the mountains of Periyar Tiger Reserve. The village is rich in bird diversity, with vineyards, diverse agricultural crops of mangoes, tamarind, onions, sunflower, jasmine and a score of other vegetables, the village will take your breath away when the guides start to interpret how farming has woven delicately with the culture and the life of the natives. Evening stroll through the local spice market to know the variety of spices the city has to offer.

  • Day 06 : Thekkady / Alleppey (approx. 150kms / 04 hours)

    After breakfast, you will drive to Alleppey to embark for an overnight cruise of back waters on a converted Kettuvalam or traditional rice barge. Get a glimpse of life on water’s edge, this backwater journey through the narrow canals crossing exquisite villages of Kerala, embellished with lush green paddy fields, tall coconut grooves makes it a most spellbinding site. All meals will be prepared by your personal chef onboard.

  • Day 07 : Alleppey / Kovalam (approx. 170kms / 04 hours)

    Today morning disembark from the houseboat & drive to the Kovalam. Kovalam is a beach town by the Arabian Sea in Thiruvananthapuram city, Kerala, India, located around 16 km from the city center. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel, rest of the day at free for independent activities.

  • Day 08 : Kovalam

    Breakfast at the hotel Later day at free for independent activities.

  • Day 09 : Depart Kovalam

    Post breakfast; transfer you to Trivandrum’s International airport to board your flight for back home.
